Travel Agency Policy
Key Travel (KT) uses only carefully selected suppliers to fulfil travel services across all product types, including airlines, hotel, ground transport (car / coach), ancillaries and rail.
We have robust procedures and policies in place to ensure our business partners are ethical and comply with all laws including those relating to environmental, health & safety, human rights, employment and equity/equality in the workplace
KT requires new suppliers to agree to and sign, or provide evidence of existing policies, for the following as a minimum:
- Business Partner Code of Conduct
- Modern Slavery Policy
- Modern Slavery Due Diligence
- Bribery questionnaire
- Industry accreditation and licences (example, ground transport solutions)
- Trustpilot and consumer feedback
We will never work with organisations that:
- manufacture or sell arms
- promote racial, ethnic or gender discrimination
- abuse human rights or animal rights

We have a strong internal focus on environmental impacts:
- We have an environmental management system which is audited annually
- We retained our ISO14001 certification in the year to 31st Mar 2023 for 12 years in a row.
In addition, Key Travel are a Carbon Neutral company and we're ranked as leaders in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) by indenpendant 3rd party ESG auditors.
Our environmental policy
Enshrined in written policy, we have a commitment to protect the environment and achieve this by:
- Developing and maintaining an annually audited and certified environmental management system which aims to eliminate avoidable carbon emissions.
- Using public transport whenever possible to minimise our carbon emissions.
- Encouraging public transport use to and from work by not providing staff parking
- Introducing the UK government’s Cycle to Work scheme.
- Reducing, reusing and recycling our resources, including paper, glass, plastic, toner cartridges and IT equipment.
- Using a paperless booking system and issuing airline e-tickets and electronic invoices whenever we can.
- no fleet vehicles across the organisation.
- new video conferencing facilities to avoid unnecessary travel to meetings.
- Launching internal initiative such as “Go Green for Key” which rewards staff for undertaking sustainable activities.
- Completing mandatory energy assessment schemes such as ESOS in UK.
- Completing annual external assessments of environmental performance e.g. via Apex.
- Offsetting annually all unavoidable emissions and becoming carbon neutral ourselves (achieved in 2022, 3 years ahead of target).
Ethical Practices
Trading
We operate to the highest codes of practice and meet stringent ethical trading standards above the requirements of Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and similar codes of practice. For example, we meet the IAPG’s Code of Conduct which endorses the UN Global Compact and has adopted the ten principles as their Supplier Code of Conduct
Our company’s social responsibility falls under two categories: compliance and proactiveness. Key Travel is unequivocal in its commitment to respect the law and to business ethics. We are committed to promoting:
- Fair dealing and ensure every partnership and collaboration is open and transparent. We capture this in our Stakeholder Management Policy
- Anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices, which are captured in our Employee and Business Partner Codes of Business Conduct which are designed to promote legally compliant, ethical and professional behaviour.
Modern Slavery
We have a Modern Slavery policy in place to ensure there is no slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or in our supply chain.
Employees and Pay
- All service delivery roles including our 24/7 international out of hours team are inhouse staff
- All staff are salaried. Salaries and benefits are benchmarked versus sector levels
- We offer flexible working and a “Key Life” flexible benefits package that all staff members access.
- All Key Travel staff are paid at or above the Living Wage. We have no staff on National Minimum Wage.
