Key travel operates in an ethical and sustainable way and deals with its environmental and social impacts using careful consideration of human rights, the community, and the environment. We are committed to meeting the highest standards of ethics and professionalism and to ensuring that our activities positively affect society as a whole.
Our company’s social responsibility falls under two categories: compliance and proactiveness. Compliance refers to our company’s commitment to legality and business ethics. Key Travel is unequivocal in its commitment to respect the law and to business ethics. We are committed to promoting:
- Fair dealing and ensure every partnership and collaboration is open and transparent. We capture this already in our Stakeholder Management Policy
- Anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices
Our compliance commitments are codified in our Employee and Business Partner Codes of Business Conduct which are designed to promote legally compliant, ethical and professional behaviour. A key feature is a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and a focus on maximising fairness, respect and dignity in the workplace. We also maintain a strong governance focus through regular Board reviews and six-monthly business risk assessments.
Key Travel is committed to protecting people and the environment and helping the disadvantaged around the world. Key Travel is also committed to providing social value through community investment wherever and whenever it can.
We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. We are a committed equal opportunity employer with fair remuneration and promotion policies and will abide by fair labour practices. We will ensure that we do not risk the health and safety of our employees and commit to furthering their well-being. We will ensure that our activities do not directly or indirectly violate human rights in any country (e.g., forced labour).
Our business model focuses on reducing travel cost and complexity for those who travel to do good in the world so that they can dedicate more of their resources to fulfilling their missions. This will remain core to our strategic development.
To maximise our impact in helping customers to improve the lives of others, we will actively invest in R&D and try to continuously improve the way we operate.
Our company may preserve a budget to make monetary donations to help and advance disadvantaged communities. We also commit to fundraise for such communities whenever this is feasible or practicable. Historically, we have a had a relationship with Obom village in Ghana through Village by Village which we have visited and helped in various ways such as funding the building of the village’s primary and secondary schools.
We will encourage our employees to volunteer at local registered charities and commit to giving every employee one day’s paid leave to carry out this activity.
Our company recognises the need to protect the natural environment. Keeping our environment clean and unpolluted is a benefit to all. We are committed to helping our customers develop more environmentally sustainable travel programmes. We ourselves achieved carbon neutrality as an organisation in 2022, 3 years ahead of our target date. We achieved this by revamping our environmental management systems, policies, and processes, eliminating avoidable carbon emissions, and offsetting the unavoidable ones.
We commit to maintaining an annually audited and certified environmental management system which aims to eliminate avoidable carbon emissions.
