The Challenge of Negotiated Corporate Hotel Rates

One of our university customers was determined to increase on-contract, policy compliant hotel spend. Hitherto, the university had multiple hotel supplier agreements which restricted hotel choice and required a cumbersome offline booking process.

Our Solution

Following a period of consultation with users, Key Travel Account Management contacted individual hotels to secure negotiated corporate hotel rates. These rates were made bookable offline and integrated into our online booking tool in a clearly visible and easy to book manner. They were also promoted across the campus via training workshops and through targeted communications.

The Results

  • Negotiated/corporate hotel rates were secured and managed centrally by Key Travel, removing the need for multiple supplier engagements by the university procurement team.
  • The choice of hotels available was improved.
  • An efficient online booking workflow was developed and launched with the new rates fully integrated.
